NEOM project Project

NEOM project subject

The project was announced for the first time in 2017 by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, within the framework of Vision 2030 and its long-term development and modernization plans. This plan aims to make the city a technological center at a huge cost estimated at a total of 500 billion dollars. The NEOM Rummana project is considered a major Saudi project and the nucleus of the post-oil strategy that aims to diversify sources of income and reduce dependence on oil as an almost sole source of income. The project is located in the northwestern part of the Kingdom, and it is planned to include areas of the Egyptian and Jordanian borders within a vast area of about 26 thousand square kilometers. Note that the project was built on a site with an area approximately 35 times the size of Singapore. In addition, the project will include areas dedicated to future technology and techniques in 16 sectors, including: the biotech sector, food, manufacturing and technology, and other sectors. The project’s contribution to the Kingdom’s gross national product is expected to reach about 100 billion by 2030. The project’s construction village will include vast green areas such as orchards and decorated gardens, along with sports facilities such as football, cricket, tennis, basketball and gymnasiums.
